#121 Sunday's SET ANALYSIS: 76042 The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier

Today we will look at a set from the Marvel them: The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. For a build in microscale, it features techniques typical of minifigure scale set such as technic functions and interior space. Here are some of the other techniques that are present in this set:

1. Micro scale cars/jets - give a sense of scale to the helicarrier and have been built with small parts that have been chosen carefully. For example, 1x1 black studs are used as wheels on supply trucks. 2. Ball joints - used to position panels at angles to create the unique shape and angles. 3. Technic - although in microscale, due to the size of the set technic is needed to support the body and give a solid structure that allows all the parts of the helicarrier to come together. 4. Interior details - small interior space is nicely detailed and can fit 12 micro figures. 5. Slopes - lots of different slopes are used to give the helicarrier a smooth and sleek finish with the appropriate shapes. 6. Technic functions - motors can be operated manually be winch at the back or power functions can be added to the set
