Today is Part 2 of our January 2021 Marvel set, so we're reviewing 76172: Spider-Man and Sandman Showdown and 76174: Spider-Man’s Monster Truck vs. Mysterio. We aim to provide a unique review from the perspective of a MOC builder and fan of building techniques and choose to score sets out of 100, giving 20 points each for a variety of factors.
First up, the largest set of the wave: 76174: Spider-Man’s Monster Truck vs. Mysterio. Overall, it's an average main build that is pulled up by the excellent minifigures and their accessories, that we recommend for minifigure lovers!
And the last one of the wave is the 4+ set, 76172: Spider-Man and Sandman Showdown. As a 4+ set, our hopes we're too high for it and although it's a great set for kids, there's unfortunately not much for an adult builder (not that there should be necessarily). Maybe buy it for your younger cousin but otherwise pass unless you’re not getting the other sets and want the new Spiderman.
