#167 TECHNIQUES - Hinge covering

Hinges are a great technique for both new and old builders, as they are easy to use but can help you achieve the correct angle and the position of pieces.

However, using hinges can leave horrible gaps if you don't cover them up. Plates or other pieces can be used to for covering, and are positioned sideways using SNOT bricks. Wedge plates are good in this

scenario as in some cases they completely fit the size of the gap and can help the transition look natural.

Sometimes it may be best to change the angle and hinge pieces if it means you can get minimal gaps, as this will increase the aesthetics of the build if there are no gaps.

Take the MOC in the picture for example, the roofs and slopes have been angled using hinge pieces, and the gaps have been perfectly concealed.
