#1740 MOC OF THE WEEK: I.E.A. Discovery bu Chris Malloy

This week’s MOC features the Interplanetary Expedition Alliance (I.E.A.) ship Discovery, designed by Chris Malloy.

This beautiful and technical suggests a modern interpretation of a deep space ship, closer to what the current international space station looks like than to a glorified aircraft. This approach is more realistic and considers realities and constraints of space such as the need to build in a modular fashion, artificial gravity environments and way more volume dedicated to mechanical and storage than to living quarters.

The way the ship is designed allows the builder to design sections that rely on triangular and hexagonal structures. It is a technical challenge but represents very well the cylindrical model that most our spacecrafts are currently built on.
