Reference Material: In this technique discussion we’re mainly talking about the 74 – z speeder bike, which was created for use during the Clone Wars by the Aratech Repulsor Company, but mostly seen in the Galactic Civil War. The length of the vehicle is about 3,3 meters with brown being the most common colour. The driver grips onto the handles of the bike. The main problem when creating a brick-built variant of this vehicle. The leg poseability doesn’t allow a minifigure to take this pose, much less for them to reach the pedals.

The 74 – z speeder bike was featured in a number of LEGO sets, so let ‘s start by taking a look at LEGO ‘s versions of these iconic Star Wars vehicles. The Tricycle piece 30187 from 9489 Endor Battle Pack allows a minifigure to sit better on the bike and was used in a lot of speeders. The most recent iteration of the 74 – z from 75353 Endor Speeder Chase Diorama captured the look pretty well, but it‘s too big to fit the minifigure proportions.

This build by @vostroyan_builds achieves every angle of the 74 – z and just looks stunning. The driver can even reach the pedals with their foot. Not all 74 – z bikes have to be brown/dark tan. This Hoth version by @_calinbors shows a beautiful white coloursceme. The triangle shield is not very accurate to the movie version, but has gained some nostalgic reputation regarding LEGO versions.
