Number 2471 FAVORITE BRICK FRIDAY: 1x1 Double Curved Slope. Part 49307 is seen in many sets today, but it is only 5 years old! Despite this, it has appeared in many colors, making the piece perfect for NPU. Check out some of our favorite MOCs that feature the double curved slope! About part 49307. The 1x1 Double Curved Slope first appears in a pretty random set, the Pop-Up Party Bus from The LEGO Movie 2. Since then, the part has appeared in a whopping 30 colors, including Metallic Gold. It shockingly has not appeared yet in regular Blue or Green! LEGO has used the part as roofing, as couch cushions, and recently in the frame of the Mona Lisa. Swipe to see how part 49307 has been used in MOCs!

Let’s start this FBF out with some Star Wars MOCs! To the left, a mini Luke and Darth Vader are fighting on the Death Star. The 1x1 slope is used for Luke’s hair and the top of Vader’s helmet by @tung_le9. This second build to the right by @snotwars cleverly uses the slope as the top of R2’s arms to make the droid look like he’s stuck in the sand!

This gorgeous MOC by @genevadurand uses the slope for the curly hair of the shepherd and for the fluff of the sheep! We also love this NPU of the scarf hidden at the hem of the pants.

These adorable character builds, Gluttony from Full Metal Alchemist by @tung_le9 below and an original spooky spaceman character by @loysnuva to the right, use the slope as teeth! The teeth are attached to Gluttony’s face with clips on a hose.

Swoosh! This wonderfully constructed Cloud character by @tung_le9 uses the slope piece upside down for his head… but how? The slope piece isn’t attached to the body directly. A clip inserted in a D-SNOT connects the hair to the body. The slope is actually attached to the hair!

These final builds show the slope used outside of character builds. The shape is perfect for a bounce house by @brick.happens_, or the dust behind a speeding bike by @farawaybricks. Let us know your favorite part use in this post, and if you’ve ever used the double curved slope creatively in yourMOCs!
