#2655 TECHNIQUE ANALYSIS: Cuckoo Clock by @marginibuilds

Go behind the scenes of this functional clock, which is now on LEGO Ideas! Matt from @marginibuilds was kind enough to give us an exclusive interview.

There are PLENTY of things that make this functional clock special:

🕰️ NPU: From Hagrid’s hair to roller coaster track, pirate bridge to golden frogs – the nice parts use on this clock is amazing. The roller coaster track has anchor points that connect to clips.

🕰️ REAL CLOCKFACE: The clockface uses cheese slopes and plates to create Roman numeral numbers.

🕰️ CLOCK HANDS: The coaxial hands are as complex as they sound. Swirls, a connector, and sai (weapon) decorate the hour hand.

🕰️ CUCKOO MECHANISM: The scissor mechanism tucks into the top of the clock. We love how bird explodes through the doors!

🕰️ VARIABLE CUCKOO: Program the clock to cuckoo every 5, 15, or 60 minutes. This works using a sensor.

🕰️ ESCAPEMENT: Don’t worry; we hadn’t heard this word before either. But it’s based on a design from Galileo!
