With “The Starry Night” being such a spectacular LEGO masterpiece, this second recreation of a Van Gogh painting has a lot to live up to. Swipe to the end to see these two masterpieces paired together!
🌻 Overall, we think the Sunflowers is an amazing set that is really only hurt by its price. The price per part is not terrible - it’s actually decent - but when you compare the size to other LEGO Art sets, $200 feels at least $20 too high.
When judging its accuracy, we had to remember that this is a derivative of a derivative. Hats off to the LEGO design team, including Fiorella Lee Groves and Stijn Oom AKA @oomswork @stijn_oom on Instagram, who had to strike a delicate balance between replicating an #Impressionist painting while still having the ambiguous forms of dying sunflowers be recognizable.
🖼️ From afar, the brick built set looks just like the real painting, and up close, all of the textures provide intrigue with that iconic LEGO DNA.
