This MOC takes the 2024 set #43240 Maleficent’s Dragon Form, a traditional 7+ playset, and turns it into a dynamic display piece that recreates Prince Phillip’s fight with the Mistress of All Evil.
This MOC takes the set back to its origin story as Ryan Van Woerkom, the designer, shared that this set was originally intended to be a display model for adults before it switched to a playset!
Upgrades include:
🟢 A more movie accurate setting of the castle that bridge that Maleficent blocks Phillip from getting to Princess Aurora.
🟢 A vibrant brick-built fire breath that was only a singular piece included in the original set.
🟢 And a rebuild of the dragon body to be smoother and hiding of ball joints for accuracy.
All in all, this is a great example of taking an existing set and upgrading it to the one of your dreams!
