#298 TECHNIQUES - Grand staircase

Today's technique is an expansion on a technique I have previously mentioned on this page - "cheese" slope mosaics. This involves using 1x1 slopes, also known as cheese slopes because of their shape, to create a mosaic by layering multiple slopes on their sides.

The builder of this grand staircase, Katie Walker, has taken this technique one step further, not only producing an impressive pattern on the floor, but including it in the staircase. This staircase uses angled platforms, that each have a arrangement of pieces on their sides to create the pattern.
