To create this rolling wave function, a series of technic parts are used, such as gears, axles and beams. These beams will rotate when the gears are turned, and push the net above. This net (which is an official LEGO part) has 1x1 transparent plates and studs attached, which means the net remains able to move. The action of the beams against the net and studs will create the rolling wave motion.
